Our guide Nick was super knowledgeable and made the tour tons of fun! My parents were able to handle the hike (very easy) and my kids (youngest 7 yo) did it no problem. The best part was being able to swim in the waterfalls at the end of the hike. Worth it to try it!

Our knowledgeable, friendly guide, Taro, did a great job informing us about Native Hawaiian history and local culture as he led us to several lovely waterfalls. The highlight was the breathtaking outdoor spot where we ate our packed lunches. It was an awesome tour!

We had the nicest, handsome tour guide. Rob took us to all the waterfalls and the extra waterfall inside the cave. Rob was also knowledgeable about the trail. The water view from the picnic area was phenomenal. I would recommend this tour if you visit Kona.

We had a great trip with Hawaii Forest and Trail to the North Side of the Big Island. John and Travis were outstanding. John provided tons of information about the geological history of the island on the quick one hour drive before guiding us along a relatively easy hike (with some slick terrain) filled with great details about the vegetation and Hawaiian legends on our way through the forest to some beautiful private waterfalls. Travis shared his knowledge of the locals and all of the the great places to see and eat. These guys made a great team and really made this tour a perfect beginning to our Big Island adventure. Thanks so much!

This was a fun trip. Me and my husband are from Colorado so we love to hike. Our trail leader was Mark and he's was very knowledgeable about the history of the island. We took a helicopter ride of some of the waterfalls that come off the north end of the island the day after this trip and it just pulled everything together. Definitely a memorable trip.

It was a beautiful hike,...

It was a beautiful hike, but the group stopped so many times. It was very slow for the short distance we hiked. The lunch spot was beautiful. We wouldn’t do it again for the price we paid.

Aloha! Mahalo for providing feedback about your experience. We appreciate you taking the time to discuss the details of your day with us and were glad to hear you did enjoy most of the elements of the adventure. We were sorry to hear that the group dynamics did not meet your expectations which ultimately impacted the speed of the hike. As we mentioned, unfortunately we cannot control who choses to join us and our guides do their best to accommodate everyone while they are with us. Also, we do have Private Ohana Outings available for guests to choose if they would like a more personal & tailored experience. Mahalo for your understanding and we do hope you will choose us again if you visit Hawaii Island. Respectfully, Jonathan / Hawaii Forest & Trail

Mike is an excellent tour guide, very personable and knowledgeable. The spot for lunch was breathtaking, the little town for coffee was really cute and the hike was beautiful. I could have used a little more hiking, but we hike quite often so could have gone further and longer.

Everything was phenomenal! Mike our tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor 😂! The hike was great, views were stunning, lunch was overlooking the 7 valleys (feels like heaven). My family enjoyed the swim (chilly at first but body acclimated and Mike assisted them under the big 💦). This is a definite check in our bucket list. Mike can never retire—-he has a wealth of information including lifelong experiences from his sojourn all over the globe. Thank you Mike for acknowledging us (RN’s) — that was so sweet!

Personal, Fun Tour

I like this as a small group, more personal, off the crowd tour to visit a site that has 5 waterfalls. It is very laid back, and you will learn a lot of history, culture and people from the tour guide. And finally you will have a lovely lunch at a place overseeing a beautiful coast that is all just for the small group of yours. Totally recommend it.

Our guide John was so fun and very knowledgeable about the vegetation, lava, volcanos and Hawaii in general. I would recommend this tour for anyone, there is a hike and steps, but totally doable and the waterfalls and swimming pond was great! Lunch and picnic spot had an outstanding view!

A Waterfall hikes to be experienced and remembered
Kenneth_C
, Oct 2021
The off beaten tracks to the private waterfalls really bring home one’s experiences. This is a professional touring company with strong/comfortable van for dirt road as well as having knowledgable guide who knows and cares about touring environment. The day ended with a great lunch and majestic view of Hawaii coastline not accessible in common roads. We were so impressed with the tour company that we booked another tour but with their sister company, Kohala Zipline only because of scheduling.
